Frequently Asked Questions

What information do you need to prepare a Nutrition Facts table or panel?

We require your complete recipe or formulation, ingredient quantities, supplier specifications where available, finished-product yield, processing details, serving or package information, and intended market. If you need an existing label reviewed, please also provide the current label artwork.

How is the nutrition analysis completed?

Nutrient values are generally calculated using recipe information, supplier specifications and recognized food-composition data. Laboratory analysis may be recommended when reliable calculation data are unavailable, when the product requires testing, or when testing is specifically requested.

Can you prepare Canadian bilingual food-label information?

Yes. We support Canadian-format Nutrition Facts tables and applicable English–French food-labelling elements. The exact scope depends on the product, label information provided and services requested.

Can you prepare U.S. Nutrition Facts panels?

Yes. We prepare U.S. Nutrition Facts panels for FDA-regulated packaged foods and can review key nutrition and food-label elements for the American market. Products regulated by the USDA, including certain meat, poultry and egg products, require separate scope confirmation.

How long does the process take?

Turnaround time depends on the product, recipe complexity and completeness of the information supplied. An estimated completion date will be provided after the project is reviewed.

How much does a Nutrition Facts table or panel cost?

Basic recipe-based nutrition analysis and preparation of one Nutrition Facts table or panel starts at CAD $75 for straightforward products when complete recipe, ingredient and serving information is provided. Final pricing depends on product complexity, number of products, intended market and additional services required. Laboratory testing, bilingual information, ingredient and allergen review, and complete label review are quoted separately when required.

Do you provide CFIA or FDA approval of food labels?

No. Nutrition Facts Expert Canada is an independent consulting service and does not provide government approval or certification. We prepare and review information based on the applicable project scope, but the food business remains responsible for its products and final labels.
